A 17-year-old Florida boy became the first ever to get surgery to reduce the size of his penis, doctors who performed the operation told the Daily Mail this week.
Rafael Carrion, a urologist at the University of South Florida, said the teenager came to them complaining he was unable to have sex or play sports because his penis was abnormally large.
“It sounds like a man’s dream- a tremendously inflated phallus- but unfortunately although it was a generous length, it’s girth was just massive, especially around the middle,” he said.
The unnamed teen’s penis measured seven inches in length- when flaccid and was 10 inches in circumference.
He had difficulty wearing pants due to its size, which doctors described as shaped like an American football.
Carrion said it was the boy who requested the penis reduction.
“There comes a time in every urologist’s career that a patient makes a request so rare and impossible to comprehend that all training breaks down and leaves the physician speechless,” Carrion told the Daily Mail.
“That question was ‘can you make my penis smaller?’ ” As it turns out, the patient had odd-shaped blood cells that blocked vessels in his reproductive organ, leading to swelling and repeated priapism, or unwanted erections.
Carrion and his team researched the best way to solve his problem and came up with the least intrusive surgery possible. They used a procedure commonly used to treat Peyronie’s disease, or a bent penis.
“It was a bit like having two side tummy-tucks,” Carrion told the Daily Mail. “That’s how we explained it to him.”
The teen spent two days in the hospital and is now a happy camper. It’s not clear what size manhood doctors left him with, but Carrion said it’s “generous.”
The family of Bobbi Kristina Brown has reportedly agreed to take her off life support but will wait to do so until Wednesday, which is the three-year death anniversary of her mother, Whitney Houston.
According to the New York Post, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, proposed the idea to the Brown family over the weekend. The 81-year-old flew from her New Jersey home to join family at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital.
Bobbi Kristina’s father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, agreed to take her off life support at midnight Wednesday, the New York Post says it was told by a Brown family member.
Filmmaker Tyler Perry, a close friend of the Browns and Houstons, helped the family reach the agreement, the Post says, adding that “he is someone that both sides respect.”
Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically induced coma since Jan. 31 when she was discovered face down in a bathtub in her suburban Atlanta home by her longtime beau, Nick Gordon and a friend.
